Kronos Island Red Rings Overview
In Sonic Frontiers, special portals on each island transport Sonic to Cyber Space, where he can play stages reminiscent of earlier Sonic games. Within these stages, there are five Red Rings to collect. Successfully gathering all five Red Rings in a stage completes a goal, rewarding Sonic with a Vault Key. Kronos Island, the first island in the game, features seven such stages, each containing five Red Rings. Collecting these rings is crucial for unlocking Chaos Emerald Vaults.
Stage 1-1 Red Ring Locations
Stage 1-1 is found in the Tutorial Area, located in the southeast corner of Kronos Island. Sonic is automatically sent here after the game’s introduction.
- First Red Ring: This ring is situated above the left-hand stack of crates on the curved track shortly after the level begins. A narrow booster can launch Sonic towards it, but if missed, a manual jump is required. Light Dash can help secure it without losing significant time.
- Second Red Ring: At the end of the initial section, Sonic will encounter a wall that needs to be jumped over. Smashable crates are positioned at the top, and the second Red Ring is contained within the central crate.
- Third Red Ring: Jump at the very end of the first grind rail. The momentum from this jump should carry Sonic to the third Red Ring. Using Boost or Light Dash can assist in securing it.
- Fourth Red Ring: When approaching a wide ramp designed to boost Sonic across a chasm, ensure Sonic hits the ramp directly in the center. This is the only way to collect the fourth Red Ring and avoid falling.
- Fifth Red Ring: The final Red Ring hovers over the straightaway just before the goal. Sonic will need to jump to grab it during his final sprint towards the end.
Stage 1-2 Red Ring Locations
Stage 1-2 is located in the middle of the Tutorial Area. To access this stage, Sonic must defeat both the nearby Ninja and Tower Guardians to acquire the necessary Portal Gears.
- First Red Ring: At the start of the stage, maintain a central position on the track without jumping. Sonic will collect this Red Ring just before the first orange booster.
- Second Red Ring: When the track divides into high and low roads for the first time, choose the lower path. Continue to stay in the center; the second Red Ring will be on the first upward-sloping hill along this route.
- Third Red Ring: Stage 1-2 includes two sequences of three parallel grind rails. During the first of these, remain on the center rail to easily obtain the third Red Ring.
- Fourth Red Ring: On the second set of grind rails, stay on either the left or right rail until Sonic passes the spikes located on the center rail. After passing the spikes, switch back to the center rail and stay on it to collect the fourth Red Ring just before the spiral loop.
- Fifth Red Ring: The final ring is located beneath the rooftop directly preceding the goal. If Sonic takes the high road, he will not see it. However, the rails leading downwards will drop him directly onto it, but be mindful of the spikes beyond.
Stage 1-3 Red Ring Locations
This portal is situated northwest of the Blue Emerald Vault, just outside the Tutorial Area. Defeating the nearby Asura can provide a Portal Gear if needed.
- First Red Ring: During the initial segments of the stage, stick to the high road. The first Red Ring can be collected at the end of the second grind rail. It is important not to jump until the last possible moment to avoid going over it.
- Second Red Ring: When the stage requires Sonic to use Homing Attack to bounce off balloons, ensure he hits the orange boost ring at the end of this sequence. This action will secure the second Red Ring and also provide ten regular rings.
- Third Red Ring: Approximately midway through the stage, a speed booster will propel Sonic towards a large object. The third Red Ring is located here.
